PENTECOST COUNTDOWN: 7 DAYS TO GO!
PSALM 67, 67 Miles Wide Eclipse and 1967
We finished Psalm 44 and Psalm 77 as the side posts into the Upper Room and now we will look at Psalm 67 as the top lintel to the doorway. Whereas Ps. 44 and 77 were about finding our proper hunger to be encountered with the power of the Holy Spirit, Ps. 67 now is in a totally different vein, though you can see the natural connection with where we left off in Psalm 77. This is now the anthem of what it is all about—going after the nations that are the Lamb’s just rewards for the price He paid.
The number 67 is very significant in another way as well. August 21, 2017 the United States experienced its first total solar eclipse that went from coast to coast. The so-called “path of totality” began in Oregon and ended in South Carolina. This "path of totality” (where it went totally dark) looked like a sash or a seat belt over continental United States and was exactly 67 miles wide. I gave a prophetic word back then that it represented a Psalm 67 promise over the United States—which I still believe. Additionally, 1967, is the year generally associated with the start of “the Jesus Movement” which was a great move of God of its own and represented the Lord making His face shine upon us. As we look at Psalm 67 let's be making these connections as well.
Ps. 67:1 “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine on us.”
I am pretty sure that the biggest song that came out in the midst of the quarantine, not just in the USA but around the world, is “The Blessing” with Kari Jobe and others. The song essentially starts out like this Psalm 67, but then the rest of this Psalm steers the blessing conversation much more in the direction of the nations—whereas in “The Blessing” it is steered toward families. Of course, both are a huge focus for this Pentecost tsunami wave that is coming in.
Ps. 67:2 “That your way may be known ON EARTH, Your salvation among ALL NATIONS. “ Another version says, “Your saving power among people everywhere.” Yet another version says, “YOUR HEALTH among the nations.” ALL of these are what the power is coming to affect.
Ps. 67: 3, 4 “May the nations praise you, O God. Yes, may ALL THE NATIONS praise you. Let the WHOLE WORLD sing for joy, because You govern the nations with JUSTICE, and guide the people of the WHOLE WORLD.”
Ps. 67:5 “May THE NATIONS praise you, O God. Yes, may ALL THE NATIONS praise you”
These verses continue to point to the God of favor and blessings for ALL NATIONS. The Lamb’s Agenda from now on is “the nations.” The rescue operation of this Passover and the outpouring of this Pentecost are both targeted for NATIONS beginning to align with their God-designed destiny. We are to be empowered for the assignment of the reformation of nations.
Ps. 67: 6, 7 “Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, And ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH shall fear Him.”
What the Lord spoke to me is that as we connect to and understand His heart for the nations it takes us to the next level of emptying ourselves and further prepares us to receive with understanding the main purpose of the empowering. “You shall receive power” is for the express purpose of being proper “witnesses” of the kingdom in “Jerusalem, Judaea, Samaria AND TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH”—For ALL NATIONS, we could say. Today we want to really understand His love for the nations of the world.
In closing, I would ask that you listen to the above-mentioned song, “The Blessing” which I understand is now in several languages. There is a really cool UK version that got the attention of Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Listen to this song and you will feel some of the freshness of the Holy Spirit for this hour come in. The blessing atmosphere we can live in has us feeling His presence all around us, before us, beneath us, with us, and behind us.
